So this is a complete 180, it went from plain ol' white t-shirt to a cute little going out tank top :) So I started off with a plain white t-shirt, Hanes as you can tell..then I went into my closet and found a tank top I liked and traced it onto the t-shirt with chalk..after tracing it I took out my scissors and cut using the chalk lines as a guide and ended up with a tank top..and then here are step by step pics of what I did..
Okay I apologize because as you can tell, you can't really see the lines, but I used a fabric marking chalk to draw out random little shapes on the shirt..
You're gonna need a sheer/ see through material.
After I drew out the random shapes, I cut them out.
Once your little shapes are cut out, cut a piece of your sheer material big enough to cover the entire cut out section.
And then using nothing more than a simple stitch, stitch the see through material to the holes, and once done, cut off excess sheer material. (also, you will do the stitching on the inside of the shirt, not on the outside, that way you can't see all that messiness)
Here you can see how it looks once I'd done a few..
And voila!! Here is the end result!! :) cute isn't it?
Side view..
Loved how this one turned out :) now I can't wait to wear it out.
What a great way to makeover a plain ol' t-shirt, isn't it? :)
