First Fondant Cake Ever!!!

Ahhh!! So my lovely cousin asked me to make her graduation cake and cupcakes..and when she asked about fondant I decided to tackle the whole fondant cake thing and give it a try..And I was very happy with the results, at least for a first time try anyway..I'd only ever worked with fondant once before but only to make a small decoration and NOT the entire cake..not only that but this time I decided to make the fondant myself..Marshmallow fondant, which is very easy to make, but very messy as well though. Very very sticky and you will get powdered sugar EVERYWHERE!! But it was fun to make nonetheless :) so I made cupcakes too. Anywho here are some pics!!

Red Velvet Graduation Cap Cupcakes!!
Red was one of her school colors and the color of her cap & gown so I had to make the tiny caps red..and they're made out of marshmallow fondant.

Red Velvet Cupcakes w/ cream cheese frosting..yumm!!

Oh!! and here's the cupcake stand in use, the one from my last post.

And here is the cake!! Woo!! It didn't turn out so bad :)

The bottom is a 13x9 inch vanilla cake & the top is like a 6 in round chocolate cake :)
It didn't turn out prefect but it turned out pretty well..everyone including the graduate herself loved it so thats all that matters :)

ANd here is my lovely cousin Eunice w/ the cake & cupcakes.

Posing and getting ready to cut the cake.

Woo so relieved that it all turned out well. And now I know that I can take on fondant cakes :)
